Dinosaurs
My kids LOVE dinosaurs. They have dinosaur shirts, toys, movies, cups, candles....
They love to go to the University and look at the dinosaur skeletons. We took them recently. There is a new dinosaur or sea creature. The kids got a bit too close to the T-Rex and almost had their heads bitten.

School Time
A few weeks ago I sent my oldes off to grade one. He was so excited to go. He had his backpack on 45 minutes before he had to leave.
.
Then today I sent the middle child off to playschool. He was a bit nervous for a second, but then was completely fine. He was also excited for school. He really likes his teacher

Summer
We spent our summer at home and enjoyed the warm weather when it wasn't raining. I did take the three kids down to visit family for a week.
Of course the highlight was seeing the new nephew. He is very cute and sweet. My sisters had a baby shower for the new nephew. I was put in charge of making the cupcakes. This is what I came up with.
The part that wasn't so great was two of the kids got sick with fevers. The day we got back home, the third child came down with the stomach flu. Yep, it was fun. I was very grateful that I was at home and that my husband was there to help.

He's here!!!
That's right....a new nephew has arrived. I must say he sure did keep us in suspense with all the lead up. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law had their sweet baby boy this morning. His name is Samuel Edward James Kilistoff. He is 6lbs 10oz. Pictures to come.

Sharing
We spend so much time telling our children the need to share and how it is so important to share. How many years does it take of parents drilling this into our children's day????
Well there is one thing I really wish children would not share....sickness. That's right, J is sick. I haven't seen her this sick before. She just clings to me and refuses to eat anything. She slept most of the day, but was up most of the previous night.
She can thank you cousin for sharing his germs with her while he was up visiting over the weekend.
Now here is to hoping and wishing no one else gets it.

The latest
We have been fairly busy these past few weeks. With everyone getting a cold and not sleeping it has caused a very tired me.
Report cards have been issued and I am proud to say that Benjamin is doing really well in school. He is beginning to read.
My remarkable husband is another year older (and possibly wiser too). We had a quiet birthday party for him. And yes Spencer's are able to be quiet....just not for too long....He had an amazing cake and received wonderful presents.
Daniel is growing. Many of his pants are way too short on him and I had to buy him new pants (and I even managed to find some that fit him in the waist!!!)
Jenna is active. She survived her 12 month immunization....I almost didn't...she is teething as well which makes life wonderful and happy for everyone.
I am trying to get back some energy. We have been doing a lot of baking....English muffins, Cinnamon buns, raisin bread, regular bread, cheese bread, soup, buns.....The kids have been really helpful with all the baking.

Sick
We have been sick. It started with a cold and then it got to be a worse cold. From one child to the next child.....now we are dealing with double ear infection and chest infection. It's loads of fun at our house.
Here is a question: Why do they make medicine taste so awful...

Grandma
This week my husbands grandmother passed away. While it is sad that she is no longer with us, I find comfort knowing that she is pain free and with her eternal companion. I first met this remarkable lady shortly after my husband and I got married. I was amazed at her strength and her love for her Saviour. She will be missed.

Christmas, New Years and Walking
Christmas was a blast. We made the trip down to visit my family. It was great to see all the cousins together laughing and playing. There was a ton of food. My brother made the majority of the food and it was so good. Way too much...but boy can he cook.
Christmas Eve all of siblings and most of the nieces and nephews were at my parents house. We did the traditional nativity reading and even had the kids act it out. We read Santa stories, sang some songs, ate good and the cousins all opened the presents they bought each other.
Christmas day we got up and opened stockings in the bedrooms. We then went downstairs and opened presents with my brothers and parents. Jenna was not really into opening presents. I opened most of them for her. She did enjoy putting everything in her mouth. Benjamin and Daniel loved all of their presents. Most of my siblings came over again for Christmas dinner. Again lots of food, laughter and memories.
On Boxing day we were able to take in a World Junior Hockey game. We took Benjamin and he was so excited. He loved looking around taking it all in. I think his favourite part was the zambonie. Part way through the first period he looked to me and said that it was time to go home. So it was fun trying to distract him and entertain him till the end of the game. Luckily Grandpa took pity on him and bought him some popcorn.
New Years Eve was quiet. We stayed home and had a quiet evening just us. New Years Day was similar. We had a bunch of snack food and ate that and had fun with our family.
During the two weeks off of school the kids slept in almost everyday. It was wonderful. We were hardly awake before 8:15. Somedays we were still in bed at 9:00. I marvel to think that all 3 kids slept in. Now that school is back on the sleeping in has come to an end. I miss the sleeping in, but it is nice to get back into the old routine.
On a completely different note, Jenna is up and walking everywhere. The last few days have seen a great improvment in her ability. No longer will she crawl if she falls while walking, but she will pick herself back up and walk. It is very cute to see her walk around the house. I was beginning to wonder if she would walk before she was a year old. You see, my other children were 8 1/2 months and 10 months when they were walking well. Jenna is also getting at least 2 more teeth.
